Safety warnings for Hands Across The Sea Samplers Ltd products:

Embroidery pattern printed booklets: Keep away from open flames; Edges and corners may cause paper cuts.

Linen, printed cotton fabric and silks: Keep away from open flames. If you intend to wash, whether as received or after your embroidery, you should first test a small sample, especially darker reds. These products have been rinsed and set carefully and should be colourfast – but always better safe than sorry.

Although care has been taken, by the suppliers to HATS, in both the dyeing and rinsing processes, bleeding may occur. If you MUST wash your finished product, please use ice cold water, a mild detergent, and use a large enough basin that allows for your project to remain flat. For larger pieces the bathtub may work well!

If bleeding occurs, it is often transferred where the fabric is overlapping on itself, so keeping your project flat is helpful. We recommend Colour Catchers when washing as extra insurance for your finished projects.

Embroidery silks and threads: Keep away from open flames; Keep out of reach of small children due to choking hazard; Do not leave scraps outside for birds to use as nesting material as it could cause harm.

Project bags: To avoid danger of suffocation, keep bags away from babies and children. Do not use in cribs, beds, carriages or playpens.

For accessories: Keep sharp objects such as needles and embroidery fripperies away from children and pets. They may also pose a choking hazard due to small parts, so should be kept away from children and pets for that additional reason.

Needleminders: Needleminders contain magnets, which can cause serous health issues if ingested. Keep away from children and pets,

Embroidery scissors: As embroidery scissors have sharp points and edges they should be kept away from children and pets.

Red Boxes: Red boxes may contain some or all of the above products. Care must be taken to respect the hazard advice noted above.

Legal statement: We ensure all our products comply with GPSR, CE marking (where applicable) REACH regulation, and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws. We take all reasonable steps to ensure that our products are safe, well labelled, and meet current EU standards.
