Annie Morris is the sweetest little sampler. Her dainty border of violets surrounds an alphabet broken up by some pretty dividing rows and a basket of fruit. Annie recorded her age but alas not the year or where she lived. Without this information we were unable to trace our Annie.

The stitches used are cross stitch over two threads of linen. The sampler has been rated as suitable for all levels of ability and can be stitched on linen, Aida and Linaida.

Annie used a palette of just five colours to stitch her sampler. On first seeing this sampler, it was her palette that caused us to stop and study her work. We wondered if this little girl was influenced by an older sister, mother, or aunt who was a suffragette.
