“Because of You I bloom” is a sampler designed by Nicola as a gift for her husband. Inspiration, particularly the border and its anomalies, have been taken from a 19th-century sampler in her collection.
The sampler has been stitched with a palette of six colours from Au Ver à Soie’s range of Soie 100.3. We have provided conversions for Soie d’Alger and DMC.
The stitches used are cross stitch over 2 threads. The design is suitable for needleworkers of all abilities. An additional chart for the alphabet together with the numerals 0 to 9 has been included within this booklet, so that you can personalise your sampler.

The design area is 155 stitches (w) x 156 stitches (h). Our calculations have included a 3" margin for finishing and framing. The model was stitched using a Zweigart-based linen that was overdyed to the shade Muddy Duck by Tabbycat Linen. The design is suitable for stitching on Aida, Linaida, or linen.
