General
Our terms and conditions apply to all usage of and transactions on this website and your purchase confirms your acceptance of these terms and conditions.
From time to time we may change some of these terms and conditions and these changes will become effective on the date they are posted on this website.
Ordering
When you submit an order, we will acknowledge your order and payment by email. This email will be an acknowledgement and not an acceptance of your order.
Acceptance of your order and completion of a contract between us will only occur when the goods ordered have been dispatched / delivered to you. We may decline all or part of your order for any reason.
Payment
We will take your payment by Visa, Mastercard, Delta, Switch, UK Maestro, American Express or PayPal at the time we process your order. If we are unable to complete your order, we will inform you and a refund will be given.
We take all possible precautions to ensure that your order and payment details are secure.
Full title to any product you order on this website will only pass to you on delivery of the product provided full payment has been received.
Delivery
We endeavour to ensure that you receive your order in perfect condition. In the event of missing parts, damaged or incorrect orders, you must notify us within 48 hours of receipt.
Delivery timescales are an estimate only and do not form part of a contract between us. We make every effort to deliver goods on time but delays occasionally occur due to unforeseen circumstances. We shall not be liable for any delay or failure to deliver within an estimated timescale.
Please note that all local customs fees are at the recipient expense.
Returns & Refunds Policy
We hope that you will be delighted with your purchase from Hands Across the Sea Samplers. However, if you wish to return an item, the following terms apply.
Your Right to Cancel
If you purchase goods from us online, you have the right under UK consumer law to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods.
To exercise this right, you must notify us within 14 days of receipt. Once you have notified us, you then have 14 days to return the goods.
Refunds will be issued for the purchase price of the returned goods once they have been received and inspected.
Unless the item is faulty or incorrect, the cost of returning the goods is the responsibility of the customer.
Condition of Returned Items
Items must be returned unused and in their original condition, suitable for resale.
Customers may open the outer shipping packaging in order to inspect their order. However, items must not be used or handled beyond what would reasonably be permitted when examining goods in a shop.
If returned goods show signs of use, damage, or handling that reduces their resale value, we reserve the right to reduce the refund accordingly.
Charts and Printed Patterns
Our charts and printed patterns are supplied in a sealed protective cello bag.
Customers may open the outer packaging used for shipping. However, the sealed inner packaging must remain unopened if the chart is to be returned.
If the sealed packaging has been opened or damaged, the chart may no longer be considered in resaleable condition and we may be unable to accept the return.
All charts and printed materials are protected by copyright and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed in any form.
Digital Downloads (PDF Charts)
Digital downloads are supplied immediately after purchase.
By purchasing and downloading a digital product, you acknowledge that the download begins immediately and that you lose your statutory right to cancel once the download has started.
For this reason, digital products are non-refundable.
If you experience difficulty accessing your download, please contact us and we will be happy to assist.
Pre-Orders and Back-Orders
From time to time we may offer items for pre-order or back-order. These are products that are not yet available for immediate dispatch but may be reserved in advance.
Estimated dispatch dates are provided where possible but should be treated as estimates and may occasionally change.
Customers may cancel a pre-order at any time before the item has been dispatched and receive a full refund.
Once a pre-ordered or back-ordered item has been dispatched and delivered, the standard returns policy applies, including the statutory 14-day cancellation period.
Pre-orders reserve stock from a limited production run, and placing a pre-order confirms that you wish us to allocate one of these items to your order.
If an order contains both in-stock and pre-order items, the order may be held and shipped together when all items are available.
Faulty or Incorrect Goods
If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can resolve the issue.
In accordance with UK consumer law, faulty or misdescribed goods will be replaced or refunded.
Shipping Costs and Refunds
We make every effort to keep shipping costs as reasonable as possible. In many cases the shipping charge paid at checkout represents only part of the actual cost of postage and packing, and the remainder is subsidised by us.
Where an order is cancelled within the statutory cancellation period, we will refund:
-
the price paid for the goods, and
-
the standard delivery charge paid by the customer.
Any difference between the delivery charge paid by the customer and the actual shipping cost incurred by us is not refundable.
If goods are returned after the statutory cancellation period and we agree to accept the return as a gesture of goodwill, shipping costs are non-refundable.
Customs Duties and Import Taxes
Orders shipped outside the United Kingdom may be subject to import duties, taxes, or customs handling fees imposed by the destination country.
These charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping cost and are the responsibility of the customer.
We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be.
International Returns and Customs Charges
When returning goods from outside the United Kingdom, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the parcel is correctly declared for customs purposes.
Any customs duties, import VAT, handling charges, or administrative fees incurred when the returned parcel re-enters the United Kingdom may be deducted from the refund.
These charges are outside our control and are determined by customs authorities and carriers.
Refused or Undeliverable Parcels
If a parcel is refused by the recipient, or cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address or failure to pay import duties or taxes, the parcel may be returned to us by the carrier.
If a returned parcel is received back by us, any refund issued will be less the original shipping cost and any additional charges incurred by us, including return shipping charges, customs duties, or carrier handling fees.
If a parcel is returned due to an incorrect or incomplete delivery address provided by the customer, the customer may be responsible for the cost of reshipping the parcel.
Returning Items
If you wish to return an item, please contact us first so that we can provide return instructions.
Returned goods should be packaged securely. We recommend using a tracked postal service, as we cannot be responsible for items lost in transit.
